10 major roads of Uttar Pradesh will soon get the status of National Highway (NH). The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has started the process on these proposals of CM Yogi. CM Yogi attended the review meeting of National Highway related projects held at Bharat Mandap in New Delhi on Monday.

During this time, he requested Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to declare 10 new highways of the state as National Highways (Corridor). According to NHAI sources, instructions have been given to start the process regarding these roads. These routes are Kotdwar-Etawah-Sagar (640 km), Kashipur-Moradabad-Aligarh-Mathura-Bharatpur (268 km), Pithoragarh to Pilibhit-Shahjahanpur-Kanpur-Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh)-469 km, Gauriphanta (Nepal)-Lakhimpur-Sitapur-Lucknow-Chitrakoot-Satna (Madhya Pradesh)-350 km, Bhognipur-Hardoi-Sitapur-Lakhimpur-Gauriphanta (Nepal border)-349 km, Bagaha (Nepal)-Padrauna-Deoria-Gazipur-Medinipur (Jharkhand)-401 km, Tundla-Etah-Kasganj (120 km), Moradabad-Budaun-Farrukhabad-Saurikh (270 km), Gosaiganj-Mohanlalganj-Bani-Mohan route (62 km) and Kakarhawa (Nepal border)-Basti-Jaunpur-Mirzapur-Singrauli (Madhya Pradesh)- 415 km.

Apart from this, the CM had stressed on opening this ring road for traffic soon after completing the remaining work (Ganga Bridge) of Varanasi Ring Road. The Chief Minister also proposed to declare Braj Chaurasi Kosi Parikrama Marg as a national highway. He also requested to improve the Ayodhya bypass. A proposal was made to build ring roads in five divisions of the state, Aligarh, Devipatan, Jhansi, Mirzapur and Saharanpur. It is believed that these proposals will be implemented soon.
