Bangladeshi Caught by BSF: In Tripura today (November 22, 2024), GRP and BSF have detained 12 Bangladeshi citizens who had entered Tripura from Silachari area of Gomti district. These Bangladeshi citizens had crossed the international border illegally through Bangladeshi brokers.
It is being told that all these Bangladeshis were going to Delhi in search of work. These Bangladeshi citizens have been detained from Teliamura railway station in Khowai district.
The Bangladeshi infiltrators caught by BSF include –
- Mohammad Siddiqui (60)
- Manora Begum (50)
- Azizul Haq (24)
- Kohinoor Akhtar (22)
- Noor Siddiqui (5)
- Sutaria Yasmin (6 months)
- Mohammad Aziz Ullah (24)
- Sagarika Yasmin (20)
- Mohammad Yaseem (1.5)
- Mohammad Ubaidullah (19)
- Umm Kulsoom (23)
- Jamia Khatoon (5.5)
All the infiltrators are from the same village in Bangladesh.
All these Bangladeshi citizens, who have infiltrated into India by illegally crossing the international border of Tripura through brokers, are residents of the same village in Bangladesh. He is a resident of village North Jaliya Para in Teknaf area of Cox’s Bazar district of Bangladesh.
Brokers help cross the international border for five thousand rupees
GRP has also detained four other Bangladeshi infiltrators from Dharampura station in Tripura. These infiltrators told that a broker took them five thousand rupees per person and made them cross the international border and enter India.
6 infiltrators were caught earlier also
Earlier on November 8 also, six Bangladeshi citizens were caught at Jaraniya railway station in Tripura. They had allegedly entered India illegally from Bangladesh. These included three men and three members of the third gender. They were arrested when they were trying to board a train to go to another state.
More arrests expected
The operation involved collaboration between the Agartala Government Railway Police, Border Security Force and Railway Protection Force to nab the Bangladeshi infiltrators. Police officials say that they suspect that more people may be involved in this case and if the investigation is taken further, more arrests are expected.
