The condition of Hathras District Hospital is bad. On January 1, out of 12 doctors in the district hospital, only four doctors sat in the out-patient department (OPD). Patients had to face problems due to non-availability of doctors in OPD. Patients were forced to get treatment from other doctors.

The health department is facing severe shortage of doctors and resources. Out of 25 doctors, only 12 doctors are deployed in the district hospital. At 10.32 in the morning, only four doctors were sitting in the OPD of the hospital. Orthopedic specialist room, physician room, ENT room, pediatric department were lying vacant in OPD.

On enquiry, it was found that the orthopedic specialist is on duty in the emergency ward. The pediatrician is on rounds in the hospital. Physician Dr. Neeta is on leave. ENT doctor Dr. KK Sharma is on post-mortem duty. Due to non-availability of doctors in the OPD, the patients who came to the hospital for treatment had to face problems. Patients were forced to seek treatment from doctors for other diseases.

I am suffering from vomiting and indigestion. I am getting my treatment from Dr. Neeta. She did not come to the hospital on Monday. I am forced to return without treatment.- Isha, Parasara

I have itching problem. I have come to the district hospital for treatment. There are no skin disease doctors present here. Was forced to undergo treatment from an AYUSH doctor.- Chhotalal, soak.

There is a shortage of doctors in the district hospital. OPD doctors are responsible for emergency and post-mortem. This reduces the number of doctors in OPD. Despite this, efforts are being made to provide better treatment to patients with limited resources..- Dr. Suryaprakash, Bagla District Hospital, Hathras.
