1282 private schools of Aligarh district will come under the purview of Right to Education Act (RTE). The target is to admit 24,000 students in these schools. These admissions will be given in the academic session of 2025-26. For this, guidelines are being issued to the schools.
At present, 14,500 children are studying in 400 private schools in the district under this Act. At present, the number of private schools in which admission is allowed is around 700, but parents are not interested in enrolling their children in 300 schools.
The Basic Education Department has started preparations to bring 1282 private schools under the ambit of RTE in the academic session 2025-26. Under RTE, there is a rule to enroll 25 percent of the children in class one in private schools without any fee. BSA Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh said that the inclusion of 1282 private schools in RTE will benefit the parents of those students who want to get admission in private schools.
