Piyush Sharma/Moradabad: The video of a pair of pythons from Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh is becoming increasingly viral on social media. The incident took place in Nawada village, where these giant pythons were rescued from a tunnel built in the field. The forest department team dug a pit with the help of JCB, took them out safely and left them in the forest. Everyone is surprised to see this video. Actually, both the pythons were 15 feet long and weighed more than one and a half quintals.
Both pythons were hiding in a tunnel built in a farmer’s field. Farmers informed the forest department after seeing the pythons. The presence of pythons had created an atmosphere of panic among the villagers. Local people say that both the pythons used to come out of the tunnel to bask in the afternoon sun. The farm owner and village head complained about this to the forest department, after which the rescue operation started.
Rescue operation: success after 2 hours of effort
During the rescue operation, the Forest Department team dug a pit with a JCB. After about 2 hours of hard work, both the pythons were taken out safely. Forest Department officials said that these were pythons of Rock Python species, which were camping in the field during winter migration.
Pythons were released into the wild safely
After the rescue, both the pythons were released in Rampur Thakra reserved forest area of Bijnor. Forest Department officials said that it was not easy to rescue such big and heavy pythons, hence special precautions were taken.

The video of this incident is becoming increasingly viral on social media. While people are surprised to see this, they are also appreciating the courage and work of the Forest Department team. The villagers have heaved a sigh of relief, because now their fields and village are safe.
