In Bihar, people eat curd and chuda even on Makar Sankranti, not chuda and curd. Means, more curd and less bangles. Can anyone imagine that 500 people together will eat 5 quintals of curd within three minutes! And, can a man eat 3 kg 647 grams of curd within three minutes! but it’s true. Not only this, most of the curd eaters belong to the senior citizens. In fact, every year on Makar Sankranti, there is a Dahi Khao, Inam Pao competition at the Patna Dairy Project premises. All this happened in the 12th Dahi Khao, Inam Pao competition. The competition lasted for three hours, but in each category one had to eat curd for only three minutes. The competition, which was closed for two years due to Corona, took place on Wednesday and when its result was released, this shocking information came to the fore. Those participating in the competition may not be surprised, but for us and you it is definitely a surprising performance.
Women also ate more than two kilos each.
The women who got reward by eating curd also performed amazingly. Patna’s Prema Tiwari, who was the winner, showed by eating 2 kg 718 grams of curd. The women of Patna were also at the second and third place. Madhu Kumari won the prize by consuming 2 kg 14 grams, while Neeru Kumari ate 1 kg 966 grams of curd. In the male category, Ajay Kumar, a resident of Barh in Patna district, won the first prize by consuming 3 kg 420 grams of curd. On the second number was Anil Kumar of Sadisopur, who consumed 3 kg 156 grams of curd. Rajeev Ranjan of Gardnibagh got the third position by consuming 2 kg 998 grams of curd.
The winner of the senior citizen category is the overall champion.
Jehanabad resident Pranay Kant was the winner last time as well. This time too, he showed maximum by eating curd. Not only did he win the first prize in this category by eating 3 kg 647 grams of curd, he also showed by eating maximum curd in all the categories. Sanjay Dwivedi of Jehanabad remained on the second number as well. He showed it by eating two kilos 496 grams of curd. Kundan Thakur of Patna stood third. He won the award by eating two kilos 359 grams of curd. Managing Director in-charge of Dairy Project SN Thakur said that 700 people had registered for this competition. Registration was done from all over Bihar. Ultimately 500 participants joined.
