Vaijyani Mala: Veteran Bollywood actress Vaijayanti Mala has been in the news for her acting and beauty. Not only common people but also Bollywood celebrities have been her fans. A famous Bollywood actress was also a fan of Vaijayanti Mala. When Vaijayanti Mala once pulled the cheeks of this actress, she did not wash her face for a week.

On the occasion of Vaijayanti Mala’s 91st birthday, the same actress has revealed this secret. Here we are talking about the famous actress Saira Banu. Saira Banu is also known as the wife of late actor Dilip Kumar. On Vaijayanti Mala’s birthday, Saira wrote a long post and expressed her passion for her again. She also told that when there was a rift in the relationship between Dilip Kumar and Vaijayanti Mala, it was she who made them reconcile.

Saira called Vaijayanti- ‘Akka’

Let us tell you that Vaijayanti Mala’s birthday was on 13 August. On this occasion, Saira posted three pictures of Dilip Kumar, Vaijayanti Mala and herself from her Instagram account. She also wrote, ‘Happy Birthday to my favorite, Padma Vibhushan, Vaijayanti Malaji (Akka elder sister)! As I write about her, you will know how she became Akka for me. My first memory of her is when I was going to Mehboob Studio with my mother, and she was going to meet her friend Akhtar Mehboob Khan.

Saira further wrote, ‘I was thrilled to see such a wonderful song in “Radha Krishna” where Vaijayantimalaji was wearing a beautiful Ghaghra Choli. Next time, we met when I started working in “Junglee”. She saw me at a film premiere and lovingly touched my cheek and said, ‘Beautiful’. I think I didn’t wash my face that week.

Saira said- Dilip and Vaijayanti’s pairing was liked

Saira further said, ‘Sahab’s (Dilip Kumar) pairing with Vyjayanthimalaji was always a favourite. The pair has given the most number of hits together, and my all-time favourite is the classic ‘Ganga Jamuna’. She did a wonderful job as Dhanno and Dilip worked very hard on his pronunciation to record the eastern dialogues on tape with the right pronunciation and dialect.

There was a misunderstanding between Dilip Kumar and Vaijayanti Mala

Dilip Kumar and Akka had a certain understanding and the onscreen chemistry worked for them. Akka once quoted that she had learnt a lot working with Dilip Kumar; it was amazing to watch him get immersed in a character and be oblivious to everything else. But once an unfortunate misunderstanding crept in between them and somehow, after shooting for a few days for “Ram Aur Shyam”, she was replaced.’
