Big gift to millions of MTNL users, 4G service will start soon, deal with BSNL confirmed


Lakhs of users of MTNL, a government company providing telecom services, will soon get 4G service. The company has finalized a deal with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited for this. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has signed a 10-year service agreement to improve its network services. Under this, users will get better 4G network connectivity.

Like BSNL, MTNL also did not launch 4G service like private companies. Now soon both the companies have taken up the responsibility of giving the benefits of 4G and 5G services to the users. MTNL has shared this information in the board meeting held on Wednesday (14 August 2024). The company informed about the service agreement with BSNL for 10 years. This service agreement is about network sharing and new generation telecom.

Users of Delhi and Mumbai will get benefit

In this 10 year period, if both the companies want, they can cancel this agreement with mutual consent. For this, at least 6 months advance notice will have to be given. This service agreement with BSNL will directly benefit millions of users of the country’s capital and financial capital Mumbai and Delhi. BSNL service is not available in these two metros. However, now due to the service agreement, BSNL 4G facility will soon be available in these cities. Also, users will be able to access 4G on their MTNL number.

Telecom service will be restored soon

Let us tell you that MTNL has more than 56 percent stake in the government. The company has announced the closure of its subsidiary MTL (Millennium Telecom Limited) in the meeting held today. This company provides mobile service as well as broadband and landline service in both the metros Delhi and Mumbai. Work will soon be done to improve the telecom service and provide better connectivity advancement in collaboration with BSNL.
