Patna police has exposed a setter gang related to the constable recruitment exam in Bihar police. In this case, Patna police has arrested three suspects from a local hotel. After interrogating the suspects, the gang’s links have now been linked to Supaul as well.
The police arrested the forest department inspector
During police interrogation, the detained suspects have also named a sub-inspector resident of Karjain police station area of Supaul district. After this, a police team of Patna’s Kotwali police station reached Supaul late at night and with the help of Karjain police station, the accused forest department sub-inspector Vijay Rajak, resident of Karjain police station area, was detained in the police station since late Wednesday night. However, Supaul police refrained from speaking anything openly in the matter throughout the day. Meanwhile, a team of Patna police again reached Karjain police station of Supaul at around 6:00 pm on Thursday evening to interrogate sub-inspector Vijay Rajak, accused of being involved in the setter gang. Where after completing the paperwork in the police station, Patna police took sub-inspector Vijay Rajak with them at around 7 pm. Meanwhile, the Patna police team has also seized important documents from different hideouts of sub-inspector Vijay.
Three suspects were found dead in a hotel in Patna There was an arrest
On Wednesday, the police had detained three suspects (Prem Prakash, Ramashish Paswan and Chandan) from a hotel in Patna. Patna police had recovered admit cards, cheque books, cash, mobiles and other important documents of a total of eight candidates from the suspects. Prem Prakash and Ramashish Paswan are residents of Narpatganj police station area of Araria district and know each other from before. Prem Prakash is calling himself a farmer. However, Patna police is considering him the mastermind of the entire gang and is carrying forward the investigation. Ramashish Paswan himself is also a candidate appearing in the examination.
The name of Inspector Vijay Rajak came up in the police interrogation
During police interrogation, suspect Ramashish Paswan told that he and two other people who were with him in police custody had met forest department inspector Vijay Rajak in Supaul court. There Vijay had assured all three of them of setting the constable recruitment exam on the basis of money. After this, Ramashish and inspector Vijay talked on phone several times. The deal for setting a candidate was fixed for Rs 7 lakh. However, no money transaction had taken place at present. The amount was to be paid after the completion of the work. Only blank cheques were being taken as security from the candidates. All three had reached Patna only to take the cheque from a candidate. But they were caught by the police here.
Constable recruitment is to be done on more than 21 thousand posts
The state government had issued a vacancy on 27 April 2023 for 21 thousand 391 posts of constable in Bihar Police. Online applications were also taken for this till 20 July 2023. About 37 lakh candidates applied for this, out of which about 19 lakh applications were rejected due to technical reasons. The same 18 lakh applications have been approved. In this, the selected candidates are to be given a monthly salary of Rs 21 thousand to Rs 69100.
Supaul police confirmed the arrest of the inspector
ASI Sunil Kumar Singh of Patna’s Kotwali police station said that the arrest has been made in case number 519/24. Karjain police station in-charge Lalji Prasad said that Vijay Rajak has been arrested late night with the help of Patna police. Patna police has taken Vijay with them. The police team has also taken some important documents with them. SP Shaishav Yadav said that the case is under the jurisdiction of Patna police. Supaul police has provided the help sought by Patna police.
