In Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh, there is a devotee of Lord Shri Ram who did not wear slippers for 11 years until a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram was built in Ayodhya. When the temple of Lord Shri Ram was built, he went to have darshan on a bicycle and now he will wear slippers after 11 years.
Devotee Gajanan gave the information
Giving information to the Local 18 team, Gajanan Mahajan, who lives in village Loni, said that 11 years ago I had vowed to build a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram in Ayodhya. I will not wear slippers until the temple is built. Now a grand temple of Lord Shri Ram has been built. I reached the city of Lord Shri Ram, Ayodhya, by bicycle and had darshan of Ramlal and now I will wear slippers after 11 years. I lived without slippers for 11 years. Currently Gajanan runs a water business. He says that when God helps so much for his devotees, I also stopped wearing slippers thinking that I will wear slippers only when my Shri Ram Lalla will be seated in the grand temple. I had to face many difficulties. But I did not let my vow break. I kept following it continuously. Currently Gajanan is 40 years old.
Puja will be performed on the last Monday of Shravan month
Gajanan says that I have come back after having darshan of Lord Shri Ram but I have to perform a puja at my home on the last Monday of the month of Shravan. After which I will start wearing slippers. That is why I still roam around without slippers. My resolution is about to be fulfilled. Now I will go to Ayodhya every year to have darshan of Lord Shri Ram.
