The education in this university is of top level. Whereas the fees are very minimal. And now this reason is creating a lot of problems for the university. Recently, JNU Vice Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit told that the university is facing a shortage of funds. And due to this, it is now preparing to sell its property. Let us tell you the whole news.

Lack of funds in JNU

Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipudi Pandit told a private newspaper that JNU is facing a shortage of funds. The financial burden on JNU is currently huge. And due to this, the university is now thinking of selling some of its properties.

She told that she wants to redevelop both the properties, Gomti Guest House and 35 Ferozshah Road and rent them out under public private partnership. Due to this, the university can earn around 50000 to 1 lakh rupees every month. The university is considering a proposal to talk to the Ministry of Education in this regard.

Rent will be charged from the institute built in the university campus

Along with this, Vice Chancellor Shantishree Dhulipady Pandit said that a total of 12 institutes are run in the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus. All of them are being run without paying rent. But now the university is thinking of a plan to take rent from those institutions every month. So that the financial burden on the university can be reduced.

He said that planning is also being done to install solar panels in the university so that the burden of electricity bills can be reduced. Most of the university’s expenses are spent on electricity bills. Increasing the fees of students is not an option. That is why the university will have to take this step.
