Omicron Sub-Variant BF.7 In India: Amid increasing cases of corona in many countries, a special watch is being kept on air passengers in India. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said on Wednesday that till date more than 15 lakh air passengers have been screened for Kovid-19. Out of which more than 200 passengers were found to be Corona positive. Their samples sent for genome sequencing showed that the BF.7 variant was found in many passengers. Our vaccines are effective against this variant.

Corona situation in the country

Two days ago i.e. on Monday, the Union Health Ministry had said that the presence of all Omicron sub-variants has been found in the country. This has been revealed by ‘Sentinel Sequencing’ of 324 Covid positive samples taken between December 29, 2022 and January 7, 2023.

In the last 24 hours, 171 new cases of Kovid-19 came in India, while the number of patients under treatment increased to 2,342. According to the data of the Union Health Ministry till eight o’clock on Wednesday morning, the number of infected people in the country has increased to 4,46,80,386, while the death toll remains at 5,30,722.

220.15 crore doses of vaccine given so far

The number of people who beat the infection in the country has increased to 4,41,47,322, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent. According to the Ministry of Health, so far 220.15 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been given in the country under the nationwide vaccination campaign.
