Dengue cases are increasing rapidly in Panchdevri of Gopalganj district. Most patients have been found in Motipur village. The number of dengue patients in Panchdevri has so far exceeded 25.

The private lab technician who conducted the tests in Panchdevri said that in the test of 20 people a week ago, Ajay Rai, Sanjay Rai, Anil Rai, Angad Rai, Manoj Rai, Vipin Rai, Meera Devi, Amrita Rai, Pramit Rai and Manisha Kumari of Motipur village and many women were found dengue positive. Among them are many children who study at home. Many women are housewives. All of them are being treated in Gorakhpur, Deoria, Fazil Nagar and Kasya.

Here, the villagers said that along with destroying the dengue larvae, no public awareness campaign is being run to inform the general public about the cause, symptoms and prevention of dengue. At the same time, the villagers, accusing the government of being lazy in preventing dengue and malaria, stressed on improving the sanitation system and cleaning the blocked drains immediately.

In this case, PACS President Prafulla Rai has given an application to BDO Rahul Ranjan and demanded spraying of medicine. PSC in-charge Dr. Ranjit Baitha said that the medical team led by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Ojha had gone to Motipur village. Medicine has been distributed. Local people were saying that they had dengue. The affected people are getting themselves treated in hospitals in UP. No patient has been found in Panchdevri Hospital so far. The entire matter is being investigated.
