On Wednesday, a severed hand was found floating in the water of a dam in Etah, Uttar Pradesh. The local people informed the police. When the police took the hand out of the dam, they saw that the Gayatri Mantra was written on it. The incident took place at the dam of Uderi in the Awagarh police station area.
Police station in-charge Kapil Kumar Nain said that on Wednesday afternoon at around 1 o’clock, information was received that a severed hand was floating in the dam of village Uderi. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and got the hand out of the dam. Gayatri Mantra is written on the hand. It seems that it has been floating from somewhere far away. No one nearby could identify it.
After this, it has been kept in the mortuary of the postmortem house located in the medical college. Postmortem will be conducted. Photos and information have been sent to nearby police stations and districts. Looking at the condition of the hand, it seems that it was cut two to three days ago. A team has also been formed at the police station level to investigate.
