In such a situation, the question arises whether Kolkata Police was trying to suppress the case? At the same time, this affidavit of Kolkata Police is also included in the status report of CBI.

CBI filed status report in Supreme Court

The CBI and Kolkata Police have submitted the status report of the investigation done so far in the Supreme Court today (22 August). The status report has been filed in the court in a sealed cover. As per the court’s direction, the CBI had to file a status report about the progress of the investigation so far in the case.

Medical College Principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh showed negligence- CBI

During this time, the investigating agency CBI told the Supreme Court that an attempt was made to cover up the entire case. The hospital administration has been directly put in the dock in the status report. The CBI also raised questions on the role of the former principal and said how he tried to suppress the case by calling it a suicide.

The CBI said that in such a serious case, the hospital authorities, especially the principal of the medical college, Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, showed negligence. They did not fully secure the crime scene after the incident. When Ghosh came to know about the murder of the doctor, instead of taking action, he tried to pass it off as a suicide. He did not even show the body to his relatives.

CBI interrogated Sandip Ghosh for 77 hours

In the status report presented by the CBI in the Supreme Court, it was said that the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh, is being continuously questioned. The CBI team has so far questioned him for about 77 hours. Some flaws have been found in his statement. The investigating agency has found evidence that the crime scene was tampered with to destroy evidence. There was negligence on the part of the hospital authorities in handling the case.
