Ghaziabad: On seeing a handicapped person, it often comes to mind that his life is ruined. Now as long as he lives, he will remain a burden on others. Mitti Cafe seems to be overcoming this thinking of people. The name may be Mitti but when you sit here, you will feel like you are in a luxury cafe. As delicious as the food of this cafe is, the story behind this cafe is equally inspiring.

The thinking of a college student changed the lives of hundreds of disabled people
This cafe is part of the initiative of Mitti Social Foundation, an NGO of Bengaluru. Mitti Cafe came into the limelight during the Covid period when this cafe provided food to 60 lakh people. More than 35 such cafes are being run across the country through a social initiative of Social Initiative Foundation in which Divyangjans are working as employees.

The cafe’s outlets are available at international airports, universities and many big cities. Alina Alam had dreamed of this cafe during her college days. Today, more than 500 differently-abled people are directly associated with the cafe. Now the differently-abled are not a burden on anyone but are also carrying the burden of their families on their shoulders.

CJI and President have also praised
Alina told News 18 Local that all the decorations done in this cafe are made by the disabled people. People like the ambiance of the cafe very much. Apart from this, for those who want to buy gift items, a separate gallery is present in every cafe, which is made by the disabled people.

Chief Justice of India D Chandrachud inaugurated this cafe in the Supreme Court on his birthday. Along with this, President of India Draupadi Murmu also inaugurated this cafe in Rashtrapati Bhavan. Many top officials of the country also do not get tired of praising the courage of these cafe workers.
