DGP Prashant Kumar said that separate planned preparations should be made at places where Janmashtami and Chehalum programs are organized simultaneously. Talks should be held with the organizers of both the programs and the local magistrate. Senior officers should themselves make police arrangements.
Make adequate police arrangements for security in processions and videography should be done. Checking should also be done with drone cameras at important sensitive places. On Friday, the DGP was giving directions to ADG Traffic, Railways, Zone, IG Range and District Police Captains in view of the upcoming festivals including Janmashtami.
He said that no new tradition should be allowed on festivals. Preventive action should be taken by updating the list of anti-social and undesirable elements. List all the events, Leela Sthal, Pandals, temples and processions related to Janmashtami and deploy police there. Take action to resolve disputes and remove sensitivity at places where disputes have occurred in the past years during Janmashtami.
Every small incident should be taken seriously and effective measures should be taken. Arrangements should be made for crowd management and crowd control by planning and using technology in advance. Social media should be monitored round the clock. Misleading and objectionable posts should be refuted immediately.
