Kanha’s city Mathura is ready to welcome its Lalla. Not only the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple but the entire city has been decorated in a grand manner. The city of Mathura is glittering with colorful lights. Devotees have come to welcome their Kanha not only from the country but also from abroad. The devotees are immersed in Bhajan Kirtan. They are dancing in joy while singing Kirtan.

In the pilgrimage city of Mathura, the devotees were immersed in joy and happiness, forgetting their hunger and thirst, and were anxiously watching the ticking hands of the clock on Monday midnight, waiting for the birth of their beloved. As soon as the two hands of the clock met at 12 in the night, the birth of Kanha was announced in Braj on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada.

Lakhs of devotees witnessed the birth anniversary of Natwar Nagar. When the conch was blown amidst chanting of mantras on the birth of the unborn, it seemed as if the creepers and trees of Braj also started dancing. It seemed as if every particle of Braj was blessed on the birth anniversary of Devkinandan. The atmosphere became devotional with the songs of Gopala appeared in the temples of entire Braj including Gokul and congratulations.


Earlier in the evening, a grand procession of Lord Krishna was taken out in the city by the Sri Krishna Janma Mahotsav Samiti to welcome Kanha. The devotees were mesmerized and started dancing after seeing the attractive tableaux included in the procession. Devotees welcomed it by showering flowers at various places.


The procession started from Bharatpur Gate and passed through Holigate, Chhatta Bazaar, Askunda Bazaar, Vishram Ghat, Chowk Bazaar, Mandi Ramdas, Deeggate and concluded at the main gate of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. In this, decorated camels and horses were walking in front of the tableaux.


Behind the tableau of Lord Ganesha, Yamuna Maharani and Laddu Gopal’s tableau were the center of attraction. In between these tableaus, devotees were dancing and singing to the tune of band music and drums. The tableaus of Radhe-Radhe Sankirtan Mandal and Keshav Dev Bhagwan captivated the hearts of the devotees.
