Former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will protest from September 1. This announcement was made by Leader of Opposition and former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav. He said that we cannot let anyone snatch the rights of the people of Bihar. Therefore, our party will protest on September 1 demanding inclusion of the findings of the caste survey conducted in 2023 under Schedule 9 of the Constitution. Not only this, if the Nitish government does not present its side properly on 65 percent reservation, then RJD will knock the doors of the Supreme Court and put forth its point. We will go to the court and present our side well. That is why we have announced a movement in Bihar on September 1.
BJP wants to end reservation
Tejashwi said that he will join the protest in Bihar. He said that our government had provided 65 percent reservation for OBC, SC and ST. We had demanded from the central government to include it under Schedule Nine. Now this matter is in the court. Tejashwi targeted the BJP and said that we knew that the BJP did not want this. The BJP people want to end the reservation, so they did not include it in Schedule 9.
Bihar government knocked the door of Supreme Court
Let us tell you that in June, the Patna High Court had quashed the Bihar Reservation (Amendment) Act, 2023 and the Bihar (in Admission to Educational Institutions) Reservation (Amendment) Act, 2023 for vacancies in posts and services. After this, the Bihar government had approached the Supreme Court. The matter is pending in the court.
