No Fly List: On November 26, a man misbehaved with his female co-passenger while traveling in business class on an Air India flight coming from New York to New Delhi. Accused Shankar Mishra had urinated on a 70-year-old female passenger during the journey. DGCA showed strictness on this matter. Mishra was banned from traveling for 30 days for misbehaving with a female passenger in a drunken state. Did you know that there are a number of conditions that can put a person on the no-fly list, not just the issue of urinating? Let us know that according to the guidelines of DGCA, when a person can be put in the no-fly list.
What does the guideline made in 2017 say?
The Central Government had issued a guideline in 2017 to prevent the misbehavior of passengers while traveling in an airplane. According to this guideline, if a passenger misbehaves in the plane, then the pilot will have to file a report, after which an internal investigation will be done. The airline has the right that during the investigation, the company can put that passenger on the no-fly list for 30 days. However, a time limit is set for this also, if the airline company is not able to take such a decision within the stipulated time, then that person can continue the flight.
Due to these works, you will not be able to travel by plane
1. If a passenger travels under the influence of alcohol and because of that causes any kind of problem to other passengers or during the flight, then this action can be taken against him.
2. If a passenger smokes in the plane or uses wrong words or language for crew members or other passengers, then he can be put in this list.
3. Deliberately obstructing the way crew members work can also be the reason for this action.
There are three levels for complaints
Pointing or threatening someone and harassing other passengers by getting intoxicated comes under Level-1. Insulting someone physically like- pushing, slapping, kicking etc comes in level-2. Damage to the aircraft, putting someone’s life at risk or scuffle comes in Level-3.
What to do if the airline company imposed a wrong ban
If the airline imposes such a ban on you and you feel that the airline has imposed a wrong ban on you, then you can apply to the Appellate Committee working under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. Whatever decision will be taken by this committee, the passenger will have to accept it.
