Shakti Kapoor’s real name is Sunil Kapoor which Sunil Dutt changed after a film. Actually, Shakti Kapoor appeared as a villain in the film Rocky and Sunil Dutt felt that the name Sunil did not match the villain’s name, so he named him Shakti Kapoor. Later Sunil Kapoor’s name became famous as Shakti Kapoor.

According to reports, Shakti Kapoor had said in an interview, ‘When I was studying in Delhi University, I was fond of playing cricket. I never thought about acting. Once some of my friends were filling the form for the Film Institute, so I also filled it jokingly. The exam took place and I passed.’
Shakti Kapoor further says, ‘All this happened in fun but then I said that since I have got admission, I will study. I went there but I was ragged. Some seniors said that he has grown long hair and has come to become a hero and they cut my hair, this incident scared me from within. That very day I decided to leave college but I became friends with Mithun who was in the same batch. So I stayed and because of this I am what I am today.’
