Congress is ready for an alliance with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Haryana Assembly elections. In the Congress Central Election Committee meeting, Rahul Gandhi discussed this and asked to explore the possibility of fighting together.
Rahul has formed a four-member committee headed by KC Venugopal comprising Deepak Babaria, Ajay Maken and Bhupendra Singh Hooda. This committee will discuss alliance with Samajwadi Party besides AAP. On the other hand, AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said that defeating BJP is our priority, but a decision on this will be taken only after Arvind Kejriwal’s consent. AAP has demanded 10 seats from Congress bordering Delhi and Punjab, but is not ready to go beyond seven seats.
