Russia-Ukraine War: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has warned the US not to cross the ‘red line’ in the Ukraine war case. He stressed that ‘Washington is losing the sense of mutual restraint with Moscow.’ Russia’s state news agency TASS reported in its report that the Foreign Minister has called it dangerous. The Foreign Minister said that ‘America has crossed the red line in the matter of supplying weapons to Ukraine. America should understand that our red line is not something to joke about, they know this very well.’

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he hoped Washington would understand the potential consequences of supplying arms to Ukraine. He said, ‘I believe that there are reasonable people left there who have significant influence, we hope they will keep America’s interests in mind.’

What did America say on the ceasefire?
On the other hand, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby has said that America is ready to welcome all those countries who are ready to help end the Ukraine war. He said, ‘America will welcome any country that comes forward to end the war keeping in mind the privileges of Ukrainian President Zelensky, the privileges of the people of Ukraine, and his plan for a just peace.’

What did Putin say on the ceasefire?
Apart from this, on Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin also adopted a soft attitude and for the first time indicated peace in Ukraine. Naming three countries including India, he said that these countries are serious about stopping the conflict in Ukraine. Apart from India, Putin named Brazil and China and said that he is in touch with these friends regarding Ukraine. Putin said, ‘We respect our friends and partners who are sincere in resolving the issues related to this conflict. Mainly India, China and Brazil. I am constantly in touch with my colleagues on this issue.’

India in favor of peaceful ceasefire
This comment by Russian President Vladimir Putin comes two weeks after PM Modi’s visit to Ukraine. During his visit to Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi discussed ceasefire with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and said that he would support the ceasefire.
