Patna’s Paliganj DSP and Rani Talab police station in-charge have been accused of colluding with the sand mafia. This allegation has been made by the famous Devraj murder case accused and sand trader Ranjit Chaudhary. This accused has been arrested by Patna STF from Rishikesh (Uttarakhand). Bihar Police had put a reward of two lakhs on Ranjit for his arrest. Not only this, he is also an accused in 27 cases. If sources are to be believed, Ranjit Chaudhary had made a video of himself before his arrest. After his arrest, his family made this video viral on social media.
In the viral video, the accused has demanded from the President of India and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court that on November 6, 2023, sand contractor Devraj Yadav was murdered at the police station gate under Rani Talab police station area of Patna. My name is being unnecessarily dragged in this case. I have nothing to do with the incident but still I am being implicated. Now if my name has come in this case on someone’s behest, then these things should be added on my behest. Ranjit Chaudhary has alleged that he killed Devraj on the behest of Paliganj DSP Pritam Kumar. In which the Paliganj DSP had given him a contract and also said that whatever partnership comes from sand, the money has to be divided equally.
Devraj was murdered on November 6
Here, after the video went viral on social media, there has been a stir in the police department regarding this video. An attempt was made to talk to DSP Pritam Kumar in this matter, but his mobile was switched off. An attempt was made to talk to CitySP West Abhinav Dhiman, but he did not receive the call. Let us tell you that on 6 November 2023, criminals shot and killed sand contractor Devraj at the gate of Rani Talab police station area of Patna. After the incident, Devraj’s wife Anita Devi had said in Rani Talab police station that five people including Ajay Kumar alias Sarpanch were involved in this murder case. After the incident, a case 382/23 was registered in Rani Talab police station.
Serious allegations made against DSP
At that time, Devraj’s wife Anita Devi had alleged that before Devraj’s murder, she had requested the government for protection, but she was not provided any security. She had started protecting herself through private security guards. Meanwhile, on the late night of November 5, Devraj had gone to Rani Talab police station in connection with an incident. While leaving the police station, criminals shot and killed Devraj at the police station gate itself. Belaur resident Ranjit Chaudhary made a video regarding this incident and made it viral on social media. In which Ranjit Chaudhary has alleged that he carried out this murder on the orders of Paliganj DSP Pritam Kumar and Rani Talab police station in-charge Durgesh Kumar Gehlot. For this, he was given a contract by the DSP and was told to give half the share in the sand partnership. Now how much truth is there in Ranjit Chaudhary’s allegations will be clear only after police investigation. At present, the police has started investigating the viral video and allegations.
Police said- 27 cases are registered against Ranjit
According to Patna Police, Ranjit Chaudhary was arrested from Rishikesh in Uttarakhand state in a joint operation by the special team of Bihar STF and Uttarakhand Police. About 27 serious cases of murder, robbery, extortion, Arms Act and attack on police are registered against him in various police stations of Bhojpur, Patna and East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand state. A reward of Rs 2 lakh was announced against him by the Bihar Police Headquarters. To extort money from sand contractors of Patna and Bhojpur district and create an atmosphere of fear, the said criminal, along with his other associates, was involved in the murder of sand contractor Devraj, a resident of Nisarpura village of Ranitalab police station area of Patna district on November 6, 2023.
