Chandauli MP Virendra Singh has sent a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla demanding a CBI inquiry into drug smuggling from the Bihar-UP border. Speaking to journalists at the camp office in Tagore Town, the Chandauli MP said that he had raised a question in Parliament earlier in this regard. Even after this, there has been no progress till now.
He said that my parliamentary constituency Chandauli shares its border with Bihar. Due to prohibition in Bihar, liquor is being smuggled on a large scale through road and rail from the UP border. This is leading to a huge loss of law and order and revenue worth thousands of crores of rupees.
Due to the Karmanasha river being on the border, smuggling of sand, alcohol and cattle is going on continuously. In this work, there is complete connivance between the senior officer of the local police and the senior officer of the railway police.
He said, recently these liquor smugglers killed two soldiers inside a train in Ghazipur. Ghazipur police is investigating the matter. Sources have revealed that the investigation is not being done properly. Commandant level officers of RPF are being protected. The real culprits will not be exposed. After investigating this incident, CBI should investigate the liquor smuggling happening across the border. Issue orders in this regard so that the theft of the revenue department can also be stopped.
