The threat of flood has started looming again in Lakhimpur Kheri district. The water level of Sharda river has increased due to continuous rain and water released from the barrage. Water has started flowing on Palia Bhira road. On Friday morning, a roadways bus narrowly escaped overturning due to the strong flow of water on this road.

Due to heavy rains in Lakhimpur Kheri district and the water released from the barrage into the Sharda river, the water once again reached the Palia-Bhira road. On Friday morning, a roadways bus on the Palia-Bhira road escaped drowning in the flood waters. This caused a lot of panic among the passengers. It was a matter of luck that the bus did not overturn. Otherwise, a big accident would have happened. Because there was a strong flow of water on the road. All the passengers got down from the bus in a hurry. The district administration has stopped traffic on this road.

After heavy rains in the mountains and the Terai region, about two lakh fifty eight thousand cusecs of water was released into the Sharda river from the Banbasa barrage by 10 am. Due to which water has started flowing on the Palia-Bhira road. More than one and a half feet of water is flowing on the road. On Friday morning around eight o’clock a roadways bus coming to Palia with passengers went out of control due to the strong current while passing through the water. The bus went off the road and got stuck in a ditch. Fortunately the bus did not overturn, it only got hung on the side of the road.

The tanker overturned due to strong current

On this road, an empty tanker overturned due to the strong flow of water and potholes. However, there was nothing in the tanker and the driver was somehow taken out. Later, the tanker was removed with the help of a crane.
