Indian Mohammed Sufiyan back home recalls 8 month nightmare on Russia-Ukraine border


Russia-Ukraine War: Four Indian citizens trapped in the Russia-Ukraine war have returned to India. They were fraudulently recruited in the Russian army. We had to depend on very little ration to do our work.” After joining the army, Indian citizens were also taught to use weapons.

Mohammad Sufiyan further said, ‘There our hands had blisters, our backs used to ache. In such circumstances our morale was broken. During this time if we said that we were tired, we were even shot at to go back to work.

Mohammad Sufiyan said that he gets scared even thinking about that place. Recalling the death of his friend Hamil, he said, “A very good friend of mine from Gujarat, Hamil, was killed in a drone attack. He was part of a team of 24 soldiers, which included an Indian and a Nepali. This incident shook me.
