Masaba had said, ‘I remember I was on a call from 2 to 5 pm and I heard that the brand would shut down on July 10. We were talking to malls, every store, landlord and requesting them to reduce the rent. Some people were very kind. We were in such a bad condition that we took back our security deposit from some people.’
5 stores had to be closed in 2 months
Masaba told that during Covid 19, investors had advised her to shut down the brand. The designer said that she used to cry after every call. Her business head was confident and positive about the brand but still she had to shut down 5 stores within two months. Some were franchisees and some were company-owned.
There was no money even to pay the cook
Masaba told that there were only 2 lakh rupees left in her bank account. That is why she asked the employees to make face masks to avoid losses. She described Covid 19 as the worst time of her life. Masaba told that she did not even have 12 thousand rupees to pay the cook. Masaba told that her life had completely changed.
