Indore: An emotional case has come to light in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where a son identified his mother through social media reels. However, the mother had died two years ago. According to the incident, the 67-year-old elderly woman had gone to Ujjain from Hubli, Karnataka to visit Mahakaleshwar, where she became a victim of an accident. She was brought to MY Hospital in Indore, where she died during treatment. Since she could not be identified for four days, Indore Police performed her last rites with the help of Mahakal Sanstha.

The son came to know about this matter when Mahakal Sanstha posted the photos and videos of the funeral on Instagram. Two years later, son Raju saw his mother’s photo on social media and contacted Indore Police. It was found that the ashes had already been immersed. The son, who came to get his mother’s memento during the Shraddha Paksha, could not find any memento, but Karim Bhai of the Sanstha symbolically gave some ashes in an urn so that he could perform Shraddha in memory of his mother.

According to Jayyu Joshi of the organization, this incident is of 4 December 2022. The elderly woman had met with an accident in Ujjain and was admitted to MY Hospital in Indore. She died on 7 December during treatment. When she could not be identified, the Mahakal organization performed the last rites on 11 December 2022.

The woman’s ashes were immersed in Haridwar in 2023 along with 200 other unclaimed ashes. Karim Bhai of the organization said that the woman’s condition was so serious that she had lost her senses, and she did not have any belongings. The son was symbolically given some ashes and a receipt for his mother’s funeral was also given.

Raju, a resident of Hubli, says that his mother had visited 10 Jyotirlingas and was planning to go to Kedarnath after Ujjain. When he could not contact her for two months, Raju searched for his mother in Ujjain, but could not find any clue. He kept thinking that perhaps she had gone somewhere else. Finally, he came to know about his mother’s death through social media.

Raju decided to come to Indore and perform his mother’s shraddha. Although the real ashes could not be found, he still prayed for his mother’s salvation with the ashes offered symbolically.
