In Etah, Uttar Pradesh, a young man’s house collapsed during the rains. Now the fields are flooded. The chilli, paddy and millet crops were damaged. Balveer died on the farm on Saturday. The family says that he died of shock.
The incident is of village Gehla in Jalesar tehsil area. Village resident Rohit said that the house collapsed during the rains on 18 September. Due to this, his father Balveer Singh (70) was very upset. On Saturday, he went to the field to see the crop. The nearby farmers told me that his father got scared after seeing water filled there.
Seeing the damage to chilli, paddy and other crops, he fell on the ground and became unconscious. On getting the information, we rushed to the farm. By then, he had died. Police and administrative officials also reached the spot. The son told that officials had come even when the house collapsed. Then they had talked about giving a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The family has not got the post-mortem of the farmer’s body done.
Three days ago, the farmer’s house collapsed in the rain. Its survey has been done. The family will be given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The damage to the crops is being assessed.
