Netizens angry on film federation of india selection process who sends Laapataa Ladies to Oscars 2025

Laapataa Ladies Entry In Oscar Awards 2025: The Film Federation of India (FFI) has officially selected the film ‘Laapta Ladies’ produced by Aamir Khan and directed by his ex-wife Kiran Rao for Oscars 2025. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the cine lovers after this news came.

Netizens have expressed happiness over the entry of Missing Ladies in Oscars 2025. However, some users on social media are also against this decision of the Film Federation of India. They have raised questions about the selection process of sending the film to the Oscars and called it sad and foolish.

A 13-member selection committee selected the ‘Missing Ladies’

Let us tell you that Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam, Sparsh Srivastava, Nitanshi Goyal and Pratibha Ranta have played important roles in this film of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao. The film was selected for Oscar 2025 by a 13-member selection committee headed by Jahnu Barua (Assam director). But people are not happy with its selection process. People have also trolled the Film Federation of India.

This is how netizens reacted

One user lashed out at X, writing, “Absurd decision not to choose All We Imagine As Light, a film that won the Cannes Grand Prix, received international recognition and has already been widely praised, as our official selection. I loved Missing Ladies.”

One user commented, “This is really sad. A film that could have definitely got an Oscar nomination loses and #LaapataaLadies is chosen. Hope other countries take this film #allweimagineaslight to the Oscars.”

One user said it was stupid

One user termed the decision of the 13-member selection committee as stupid and wrote, ‘Indian Oscar Jury continues its stupidity and selects Missing Ladies for Oscar instead of Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light… what nonsense.’

Another user wrote, “I loved #MissingLadies and thought it was a great film. But by ignoring #AllWeImagineAsLight, feel FFI has missed another chance at the Oscars this time around. OTOH, it has been selected in the top 4 by France for Oscar submission and has already won the prestigious Grand Prix award at Cannes.”
