Eat food according to Hindu months

  • Chaitra month– Eating jaggery is prohibited in Chaitra month. You can eat gram.
  • Vaishakh month– Oil and fried items should not be eaten. Eating wood apple is beneficial.
  • Jyeshtha month– Heat is severe during these months, hence moving around too much is harmful for health. One should sleep as much as possible.
  • Aashadh month– Eating ripe wood apple is prohibited in Aashadh month. But one should play a lot in this month. One should exercise.
  • Shravan month– Eating greens is prohibited in Sawan month. Greens i.e. green leafy vegetables and milk and milk products are also prohibited. Harra should be eaten in this month which is called Haridra or Harda.
  • Bhadrapada month– Eating curd is prohibited in Bhado month. Buttermilk, curd and products made from it should not be consumed in these two months. Sesame seeds should be used in Bhado.
  • Ashwin month– Eating bitter gourd is prohibited in this month. Jaggery should be eaten daily in this month.
  • Kartik month– Eating curd and cumin seeds is prohibited at all in Kartik month. Radish should be eaten in this month.
  • Margashirsha month– Cumin seeds should not be used in food in Agahan. Oil can be used.
  • Paush month– Milk can be drunk in Poos month but coriander should not be eaten because coriander is considered to be cold in nature and it is very cold in this season. More milk should be drunk in this season.
  • Magh– Eating radish and coriander is prohibited in Magh month. Mishri should not be eaten. Ghee-khichdi should be eaten in this month.
  • Phalgun– In the month of Phalgun, one should get up early in the morning and take a bath. Eating gram is prohibited in this month.
