A teenage girl who had gone to take bath with her mother on the occasion of Jiutiya festival on Wednesday evening near Baraipatti village under Jadopur police station area of Gopalganj district, drowned in the Gandak river. This led to her death. The death of the girl created an uproar among the family members. On receiving information about the accident, the police of the local police station reached the spot, took the body into custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital, Gopalganj for postmortem. The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Sangeeta Kumari, niece of Sanjay Kumar of Baraipatti village under Jadopur police station area of the district.

Divers found the body after a lot of hard work
It was told that the girl had gone to take bath in the Gandak river with her mother on the occasion of Jitiya festival. While taking bath in the Gandak river, the girl drowned and went missing. During this time, other women bathing in the river raised an alarm. After this, with the help of local divers, the girl was recovered from the river after about an hour of search. The Dial 112 team, which reached the ghat of the Gandak river, sent her to Sadar Hospital, where the doctors declared the girl dead.
After the incident, the family members were crying inconsolably
On receiving the information about the death of the girl, the police of Jadopur police station took the body in their custody and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The death of the girl caused wailing among the family members. The family members were inconsolable and weeping.
