Contract worker posted at sub-station arrested red handed while taking bribe

A contract electrician posted at Datia sub-station in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh was caught red-handed taking bribe by the anti-corruption team. It is alleged that the contract worker had come to collect recovery from the consumer under the threat of electricity theft action. There is panic in the department after the incident.
It is being told that a few days ago, contract worker Madhav Tiwari had made a video of the WiFi cable going from a shop. It is alleged that since then the contract worker was demanding money from the shopkeeper by threatening him with filing an FIR. Troubled by this, the shopkeeper complained about the matter to the Agra Anti Corruption Team.
The team made a plan to catch the accused. The shopkeeper called the contract worker to give him Rs 10,000. On Saturday, as soon as the contract worker held the bribe money in his hand, members of the anti-corruption team arrested him red-handed. The team has handed over the accused to Farah police.
An FIR has been lodged against the accused in the police station. Superintending Engineer Vijay Mohan Khera said that a letter has been sent to the service provider company for action against the accused employee. A departmental inquiry into the matter will also be conducted. Team in-charge Sanjay Rai said that action will be taken against the accused as per rules.
