Bihar: In Bihar, a young man committed suicide by jumping into the Gandak river. Family members say that he got angry over some issue at home and left the house and jumped from the bridge into the river.

A young man jumped into the river in Vaishali. This incident took place near the old Gandak bridge of Nagar police station area. The youth has been identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Dinesh Rai, resident of Daulatpur Deoria under Sadar police station area. As soon as information about the incident was received, two teams of SDRF started a search operation in the river to find the youth. As soon as information about the incident was received, people of the youth’s village and passers-by gathered at the spot.
Eyewitnesses told how he jumped into the river
Regarding the incident, eyewitnesses present on the spot said that a young man jumped into the river near Paya number three of the Old Gandak bridge. The eyewitness told that a young man came on a bike and parked the bike on the bridge. Following him, his cousin also came fast on another bike, but before he could catch him, the young man jumped into the river. People saw him jumping into the river but before anyone could do anything, he was swept away by the strong current of the river. The local people immediately informed the SDRF team as well as the police about the incident. As soon as the information was received, both of them reached the spot and the search started.
There was a dispute with father at home
The cousin of deceased Deepak, who was present at the spot, told that there was a dispute in the house over some issue. Angered by this, he threatened his family members of drowning in the river and left the house and jumped into the river. Cousin told that Deepak Kumar used to run a paan kiosk near Daulatpur Deoria Chowk. On Wednesday, Deepak Kumar had an argument with his father over some issue. Due to this matter, Deepak jumped into the river from the Gandak bridge. After the incident, the family members are in bad condition and crying. At present, the youth’s family is refraining from saying anything regarding the incident. SDRF’s Krishna Kumar said that as soon as information was received about a youth jumping into the river from the Gandak bridge, two teams started searching for the youth in the river. He said that the youth is being searched in the Gandak river.
