Over 60 players have already signed up and the process is ongoing, making this initiative a reflection of ICC’s commitment to creating a safe digital environment ahead of the tournament.

This initiative is part of a wider series of digital products that ICC is releasing for the tournament to promote healthy interactions among cricketing players.

To implement this social media moderation program, ICC has partnered with GoBubble, which uses a mix of AI technology and human resources. The collaboration will enable monitoring and moderation of comments on ICC’s official Facebook, Instagram and YouTube channels, as well as the social media platforms of players who choose to use the service. This cutting-edge technology is specifically designed to detect and hide negative content, such as hate speech, harassment and misogyny, to give fans a safe and secure environment to engage with the World Cup.
Players can manage themselves
Players who use this service can automatically hide harmful comments from their social media feeds. This allows them to promote themselves and the game in a safe environment, where they are kept free from the harmful effects of online negativity.
ICC Head of Digital Finn Bradshaw expressed his excitement about the initiative, saying, “We are committed to fostering a positive and great environment for all participants and fans of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. “Many players and teams have embraced our new initiative.”
