Sensation spread when two youths drowned in water near Narhar Pakdi bridge located on Budhi Gandak river under Chakia block area of Motihari. While two other youths who were drowning were saved by the promptness of the villagers. The NDRF team reached the spot and is busy searching for the missing youth.
Let us tell you that a grand Kalash Yatra had started from the place of worship on the occasion of Durga Puja. At the same time, the devotees had returned to their destination after bathing in water. While four youths were in the river with the intention of taking a bath in the water. Within no time all four youths went into deep water. Seeing the youth drowning, the villagers present swam and Prince Kumar, 13-year-old son of Rambhu Sah, resident of village Bhartuhiyaan Ward No. 13, and Sudhanshu Kumar, 25-year-old son of Vijay Rai, were saved.
Also, Ankit Kumar, 16 year old son of Ranjit Bhagat, resident of village Chakwara Vrit Ward No. 7, and Yatendra Kumar alias Satyam, 17 year old son of Mukesh Kumar Thakur, were swept away in the strong current of the river. NDRF, which reached the spot on information, is busy searching for the drowned youth with two boats under the leadership of Inspector Rajeev Kumar. The news of the incident spread rapidly in the area and a crowd of people gathered at the incident site.
At the same time, head husband cum social worker Surendra Rai said that the enthusiasm of the festival has turned into mourning due to the news of children drowning. There is a wave of mourning in the entire village. On the other hand, the family members who defeated death and survived the drowning are praying to God, while the family members of the missing youth are in a bad state, crying.
