A case of embezzlement of more than Rs 23 lakh has come to light in Gram Panchayat Shivri of Tadiawan development block. The District Audit Department has reported embezzlement of this amount from the amount spent from the year 2013-14 to 2016-17. For this, recovery has been recommended from the Panchayat Secretaries including the then head.
In the work done by the District Audit Department during the years 2013-14 to 2016-17, during examination of the records of purchases, Rs 23,06,933 were withdrawn from the government accounts, but no account of these rupees has been found. The budget was paid from the village fund accounts by the then head Ramlali as well as Panchayat Jitendra Verma, Vimlesh Gupta etc. Regarding the payment, the then head and the Panchayat Secretary could neither show any records nor present any evidence. The District Audit Department has given a report of recovery from the Panchayat Secretaries including the then Head. District Panchayat Raj Officer Vinay Kumar Singh has issued a notice to the Panchayat Secretaries including the then and present Shivri head Ramlali for the recovery of Rs 23,06,933.
