In a function organized at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, Chief Minister Mohan Manjhi appointed 16009 junior teachers in the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

According to media reports, teachers have been recruited in all 30 districts of the state. While addressing the gathering, Majhi said that teaching is the most respectable profession and teachers shape the future of the society. CM said that we have increased the education budget and have also fulfilled our promises at double the speed. Handing over appointment letters to 16000 teachers shows that we are taking steps to improve the quality of education on a large scale, ensure better learning outcomes and create a bright future for the children of Odisha.

Regarding this work of the government, opposition party BJD mocked BJP for taking credit for the recruitment of teachers.
