A case of attempt to rape an innocent girl has come to light in Ushait town of Badaun. The incident spread anger in the town. People protested by closing the market. The police have arrested the accused.

In Ushait police station area of Badaun, a youth from another community called a seven-year-old girl to himself on Monday morning on the pretext of getting her toffee. The allegation is that he tried to rape the girl. When the girl reached home crying, the family asked the reason. On this the girl narrated the entire incident. After this, the victim’s family reached the police station with the girl. A complaint was given to the police. The police immediately arrested the accused Tariq Ansari.
When the people of the town came to know about the incident, a crowd gathered. They closed the market and started raising slogans against the police. Outrage spread throughout the town. People protested and reached the police station. There is a situation of confusion regarding the incident. The family members are saying that it was rape, but the police are saying that it was attempted rape. People of Hindu organization reached the police station.
