Today we will tell you from where Hari Singh, the last Maharaja of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, studied and took military training.
Let us tell you that Hari Singh was the son of Amar Singh and Bhotiyali Chib. After the death of his uncle in 1923, he became the new Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir. After India’s independence in 1947, he wanted Jammu and Kashmir to remain as an independent state. He had to accede to the Dominion of India in order to gain the support of Indian troops against attacks by tribal armed people and Pakistani forces in his kingdom. Hari Singh remained the nominal Maharaja of the state until 1952, when the Government of India abolished the monarchy.

studied at mayo college
He died on 26 April 1961. His last days were spent in Bombay. Raja Hari Singh went to Mayo College, Ajmer for studies when he was only 13 years old. Just a year later, in 1909, his father died. But the British showed great interest in his education and Major HK Brar was made his guardian. After Mayo College, Hari Singh went to the British-run Imperial Cadet Corps in Dehradun for military training.
There were so many members in Praja Sabha
After becoming the ruler, Hari Singh held free elections and constituted the Praja Sabha, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly for governance with laws applicable under the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC). Raja Hari Singh had formed a committee in the year 1932 under the leadership of Sir Barjor Dalal. According to reports, there were 75 members in Praja Sabha. Of these, 33 were elected members while 30 were nominated and 12 were members of the officer category.
How many seats for whom?
Many parties had emerged in this. According to the provinces, Kashmir province got 16 seats, in which there were 11 Muslims, 3 Hindus and 1 Sikh. Jammu province was given 17 seats, which included 9 Muslims, 7 Hindus and 1 Sikh.
