Turkish Pilot Died In Flight: The 59-year-old pilot of a flight going from Seattle, America to Istanbul, the capital of Türkiye, died in the air during the flight. The plane was at an altitude of 34,000 feet when the pilot died. After the death of this Turkish Airlines pilot, the flight had to make an emergency landing in New York.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, when this accident occurred, first aid was given to the pilot, but it also had no effect. After this, the pilot of Flight 8JK, Airbus A350-900, landed it around 6 am.

Health checkup was done

The deceased pilot has been identified as Ilsehin Pehlivan. Turkish Airlines said that this pilot had been working in their airlines since 2007 and his last regular health checkup was done in March, but no health problem was found at that time, which could affect his work.

The airline expressed grief

The airline said in its statement that it is saddened by the death of its pilot. The airline expressed its condolences to the pilot’s bereaved family, colleagues and all his loved ones. Along with this, the airline also says that arrangements are being made for the passengers to return from JFK to Istanbul. Let us tell you that the presence of two crew members in the cockpit is necessary at all times and according to the agency, pilots above 40 years of age have to undergo physical checkup twice a year.

Pilot died in 2015 also

A similar case came to light in 2015, where an American Airlines pilot died due to illness during an overnight red-eye flight from Phoenix to Boston.
