After the accident, the police reached Cheriya Bariyarpur police station, took the body in their custody and sent it to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and started further action.

While immersing the urn of Goddess Durga in Begusarai, a young man died tragically by drowning in the Gandak river. There was chaos among the family members after this death. The incident took place at Gopalpur Gandak river ghat of Cheria Bariyarpur police station area. The deceased youth was identified as Shubham Kumar, son of Ram Sograth Mahato, resident of Gopalpur ward number 8.

Shubham went into deep water

Family members told that today he had gone to Gopalpur Gandak river ghat with his mother and father to immerse the urn of Goddess Durga. Shubham Kumar’s foot slipped while immersing the Kalash. Due to which he went into deep water. Due to which Shubham Kumar started drowning. Seeing him drowning, the local people made every possible effort to save him. But, could not save. Due to this, Shubham Kumar died due to drowning.

Child dies in front of parents

People have told that the son died due to drowning in front of his mother and father. Both of them could not save their child even after trying. Both of them were in bad condition due to crying. After a lot of effort by the local diver, the body of Shubham Kumar was recovered from the water of Gandak river ghat. At present, after this incident, the family informed the Cheriya Bariyarpur police station. Police of Cheria Bariyarpur police station reached the spot, took the body in their custody and sent it to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and started further action.
