How Does Glue Or Fevicol Works They Made From Polymer And Water Know The Process Here

How Does Glue Works: In childhood, we all have used glue or fevicol to paste torn notebooks or to make any craft item. You must have also seen many advertisements related to these, which claim that even if the material breaks, the glue used in it will never dry and its effect will not decrease. We use Fevicol to stick things at home and it is also used in many types of businesses like making furniture etc. But have you ever wondered why this glue that sticks easily everywhere does not stick to the bottle in which it is filled? Actually, the reason behind this is a chemical reaction. Let’s understand…

What is glue?
Before knowing why glue does not stick inside the bottle, let us know a little about glue. Actually glue is made from chemicals, which are called polymers. Polymers are long strands that are either sticky or stretchy. Glue makers correctly assess the sticky and spreadable polymers and find such a polymer which is good at stretching and also sticky.

How does glue work?
After this, water is mixed in them. Fevicol is a white glue, it also contains water which acts as a solvent. It does not allow the glue to dry and maintains it in liquid form. As soon as the glue is taken out of the bottle, its water dries up in some time and the polymers stick to the things. Significantly, glues like Feviquik do not contain water, nor are they made from polymers. These are made from a chemical called cyanoacrylate. This chemical sticks to things when it comes in contact with water present in the air.

This is why glue doesn’t stick to your bottle
Now the question arises why doesn’t glue stick to its own bottle? As you know above that water is mixed in the glue and it sticks only when it dries. In such a situation, the bottles of white glue like fevicol etc. are completely sealed so that the air inside them does not dry up. But if you leave its bottle open in the air for some time, it will stick to the bottle as well. On the other hand, glue like feviquik has to be protected from water. There is not even a particle of water in the bottle in which it is kept. Even if it is left open, it will dry up by mixing with the water vapor present in the atmosphere and stick inside.
