US britain asked India to cooperate in Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Murder


India-US Relations: America has described the meeting with India regarding the failed conspiracy to assassinate Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu as useful. US State Department spokesperson said that America is investigating this matter in collaboration with India. India’s cooperation is satisfactory.

US officials have alleged that Indian agents were involved in the failed conspiracy to assassinate Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, which was hatched in New York. Along with this, an Indian citizen was convicted, who was working at the behest of an unknown Indian government official. During the recent meeting, cooperation and investigation process between the two countries was discussed.

Conspiracy to plan murder of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu
America was accusing India that an unidentified Indian intelligence officer had prepared a plan to murder American-Canadian citizen Pannu. After the recent meeting, the State Department spokesperson told reporters in a press briefing that the US Intelligence Department informed us that the person whose name was taken in the case is no longer an employee of the Government of India.

Recent relations between India and Canada
According to Reuters report, the US State Department spokesperson said that the US government has given detailed information about the investigation to the members of the (Indian) investigation committee. We have received new information from them about the investigation they are conducting. At the same time, Canada accused India that the Indian High Commissioner was behind the murder of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in their country. After this, India called back its diplomats calling the allegations baseless and expelled 6 Canadian officials.

Justin Trudeau asked for help from Britain
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had sought support from Britain, one of its Five Eyes allies, in the case related to the murder of a Khalistani man. On Wednesday (October 16), he called British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and discussed, in which he talked about attacks against Canadian citizens by agents associated with the Indian government.
