In Purnia, a married woman was strangulated to death. The family has accused her in-laws of strangulating her to death demanding money. There is mourning among the family members after the incident. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused husband and took possession of the body and started the post-mortem process. The incident took place late Thursday evening in Maranga ward number 08 of Maranga police station area. The deceased woman has been identified as Neelam Devi, 26, wife of Vishandev Yadav, resident of Harda Kavaiya.
Three lakh rupees were given two months ago
Deceased’s brother Raj Kumar told that Neelam was married to Sonu Yadav, son of Devanand Yadav, resident of Maranga Ward No. 8, in 2018. In lieu of dowry, a bullet was given along with six lakh rupees in cash. Everything went well till a few days after the marriage, after which he started demanding money continuously. Three lakh rupees were given two months ago, but still the torture continued. Called for farewell on Thursday morning. But, he started refusing to bid farewell. When I called again about 4 o’clock in the afternoon regarding farewell, Neelam’s mobile was off.
Mother-in-law, sister-in-law and husband strangled her to death
The family members said that the mother-in-law, sister-in-law and husband of the deceased together strangulated her to death. On receiving information about the incident, Maranga police station reached the spot, took possession of the dead body and started the post-mortem process. Regarding the matter, Maranga police station incharge Rupak Ranjan said that the post mortem process is being done after taking possession of the woman’s body. On the application of family members, FIR has been registered and the accused husband has been arrested from the spot.
