In a dispute over two kattas of land in Purnia, the elder brother poured acid in the eyes of the younger brother. After this incident he lost his eyesight. The incident took place near Chandrahi Ward 14 Mosque of Dhamdaha police station area. The injured youth has been identified as Mo Ruban Ansari (38), son of Mo Islamuddin, resident of Ward 15 of Chandrahi village of Dhamdaha police station area.

Giving information regarding the incident, middle sister-in-law Noor Jahan Khatoon said that her brother-in-law Md Ruban Ansari was having a dispute with his elder brother Md Babar regarding 2 katha land for almost a year. A year ago, the elder brother got one and a half katha land registered in his name and for the last few months he was demanding a share in 2 katha land. There was a dispute going on between the two regarding this. Today on Saturday, Mohd. Ruban Ansari was returning home from the fields on a bike after filling diesel in his tractor. As soon as Chandrahi reached near Ward 14 Mosque, the rest of the family members were waiting for him with sticks. As soon as they reached there, the elder brother threw a bamboo at the younger brother and hit him, after which the younger brother Mo Ruban fell down with the bike. Then Mo Babar and his wife Shahra Khatoon, Dilshad Ansari, Chanda Khatoon, Shamshul Ansari, Monu Ansari attacked him with sticks. He was beaten to death. After this, other people held Mo Ruban’s hands and legs and then elder brother Mo Babar along with his wife Shahra Khatoon poured acid in the eyes of younger brother Mo Ruban. In this incident the young man has lost the vision in both his eyes.
The condition of the injured is critical.
After the incident, all the accused fled from the spot. As soon as information about the incident was received, nearby people reached the spot and took him to the sub-divisional hospital. There the doctors gave him first aid and referred him to Purnia GMCH for better treatment. However, even there the doctors referred him to Bhagalpur citing his serious condition.
