Shree Padmanabha Swamy temple Police first called devotee thief then after seeing mistake withdrew case


Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple: Four people from Haryana were detained for allegedly stealing a bronze vessel from the famous Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Police gave this information on Sunday (20 October). The traditional utensils, called ‘Uruli’ in the local language, were used for worship and rituals in the ancient temple.

Kerala Police decided to withdraw the charges of stealing a bronze vessel from Sri Padmanabha Swamy Temple. Upon investigation of the matter, it was found that the suspect had brought this vessel outside by mistake. According to police officials, the suspect in this case is a doctor who has Australian citizenship. However, his wife and a friend are not considered suspects.

What is the whole matter?
The police have not made public the name of the person detained from Haryana in connection with this crime that allegedly took place on October 17. During interrogation, the suspect told that he had brought a plate with him before entering the temple, but when the man’s plate fell, a devotee handed him a bronze vessel. Temple officials told that this is a small vessel, which has been kept in the temple for the last many years.

Police decided to withdraw the case
In this matter, the Fort Police had also registered a case under Section 305 (theft), but when it became clear to the police that the suspect had picked up this utensil by mistake, the police decided to withdraw the case. Police said that the arrest of the suspect will be registered and he will be released on bail from the police station. The police used CCTV footage and the passport given at a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram to investigate the matter.
