One person died and five people including a woman were injured in a head-on collision between a Scorpio and an auto in Purnia. The injured were admitted to Purnia GMCH for treatment. Seeing the serious condition, the doctors there have referred him to the higher hospital. On receiving information about the incident, they reached the spot and took possession of the dead body and the damaged Scorpio and auto. The incident took place near the petrol pump at Bahelia place in Nagar police station area. The deceased has been identified as Lal Ji Sah, son of Prasadi Sah, resident of Dhamdaha Ward 13. Auto drivers Vipin Kumar Sahni, Vandana Devi, Mahakant Jha, Muskaan Kumari and Akanksha Kumari are involved in this incident.
Purnia had come for treatment, got injured in a road accident
Injured Akanksha Kumari told that she had come to Purnia to consult a doctor. She was returning home by auto after seeing the doctor. While returning, he was hit hard by a Scorpio coming from the front at high speed near the petrol pump. As soon as the incident happened, the driver left the Scorpio and ran away. One person traveling in the auto died on the spot, while five people including the auto driver were injured. As soon as the incident happened, people nearby gathered there. Local people informed the police about the incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and admitted the injured people to Purnia Medical College cum Hospital for treatment. Seeing the serious condition, the doctors there referred Mahakal Jha to the Higher Hospital. At present, four people including one woman are undergoing treatment at Purnia Medical College.

On receiving information about the incident, Kennagar Police Station Head Navdeep Gupta along with the police team arrived and seized the damaged Scorpio and auto. The same body has been taken and sent for post-mortem. The police station chief said that the driver has fled leaving the Scorpio. The damaged Scorpio and auto have been confiscated.
