With the arrival of Diwali, the climate of Delhi has once again started deteriorating. The government has started imposing restrictions. This time also there is a possibility of more pollution like last Diwali. The biggest reason for the poisonous air of the capital is fireworks, stubble and smoke emanating from vehicles.
There are so many vehicles in the state that a few years ago even an odd-even formula had to be introduced. In fact, pollution emanating from vehicles is a big threat not only to the environment but also to health. Both cars and bikes cause pollution. In such a situation, let us know which of the two sources of pollution is more dangerous…
Vehicles running on petrol and diesel release carbon monoxide into the air, which is harmful for health. Apart from this, carbon, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide are also released in large quantities, which have dangerous effects on health. This can cause serious respiratory diseases
Most pollution is caused by heavy vehicles. After this comes the bike’s turn. A combination of petrol and diesel cars does not produce as much pollution as a bike does. This has been revealed in a study conducted at The Energy and Research Institute (TERI) and University of California.
According to a study by the International Council for Clean Transportation (ICCT), 70% of petrol consumption in 2021 was used for road transport and 25% for two-wheelers. The study said that if the number of two-wheelers running on petrol increases, then by 2050 the dependence on fossil fuels will more than double.
Ways to avoid vehicle pollution: 1. Use electric vehicles. 2. Use public transport more. 3. Can do car pooling. 4. Ride a bicycle instead of a bike. 5. Maintain proper maintenance of car-bike.
